Welcome and God bless you!
We are a community of progressive Christians who believe that God's love embraces all persons equally. Open Prairie not only proclaims but also deliberately practices an extravagant hospitality that invites and welcomes persons of every gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, economic status and ability. The photo below is from Palm Sunday, 2016, when our dear sister church, Open Table UCC in Ottawa, joined us. From time to time we do things out of the ordinary. If you are an out of the ordinary person yourself, come and be our guest on Sunday mornings @ 10:30am.

Palm Sunday ~ Congregational Photo!
We invite you to join us for Palm Sunday, March 25 at 10:30! Come wave your palms, and join us for our annual tradition of a congregational photo! Let it be sunny, so our group shot can happen on our front stoop, but rain or shine, we hope to see you!
Maundy Thursday service!
Worship Team is planning a Maundy Thursday Service on March 29! Stay tuned!
Easter Worship Services!
Please join us for our various Easter events April 1! We will have a sunrise service at Pilgrim Park Camp, located outside Princeton, at 7am at the cross on the hill, followed by our 10:30 service at Open Prairie! Check back in as these events get planned out! Let us know if you need directions to Pilgrim Park!
Semi-Annual Congregational Meeting!
Open Prairie's church constitution requires a congregational meeting every spring and fall. Our spring meeting is set for Sunday, April 15. The offices of treasurer and moderator will be voted on. Current Treasurer Gary Klingel has volunteered to continue as treasurer, but we are looking for a new moderator. If you would like to recommend anyone for the position, including yourself, please let Pastor Adam Webber know! All are invited to the meeting, though only members can vote. Please attend this important day!
Check us out on Church Clarity!
WEDDINGS ~ We're among the advocates for Church Clarity. This is a great website and database that scores churches as to whether we are affirming or non-affirming when it comes to LGTBTQIA people. We at Open Prairie want to be clear that YES, our pastors do perform weddings for LGBTQIA persons as well as those who identify as straight. Sometimes the weddings are in our building and sometimes at other locations. Our pastors will work with you as you look for people who will not only help you get married, but also as a spiritual community that supports you in your marriage. Check out Church Clarity for our page listing!
PRAYING FOR YOU AND WITH YOU
We continue to welcome your prayer requests in our prayer box on the table in the lobby. Keep your eye out for the yellow slips in every bulletin! Our prayer chaplain, Sue Carlson takes them home after worship and prays for you during the week. She is available after worship to pray with you in the prayer corner. Thank you, Sue!
Stop by the Little Free Library at Open Prairie!
OPEN PRAIRIE operates a Little Free Library on its property at 25 E. Marion Street, Princeton. The premise of the library is for those in our community to take a book they would like to read and return a different book in its place. We have books for children and adults alike. The library is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year! Feel free to stop by and check out our offerings, write in our guest book, and leave a book of your own behind! If you have any suggestions on books you'd like to see, please let us know. Also, if you go to littlefreelibrary.org Open Prairie is listed on the world map for Little Free Library locations! Happy reading!

Centering Prayer / Contemplative Practice
Centering prayer, meditation, a quiet time ~ we're at church every Wednesday @ 8:30am. It's a quiet, restorative way to begin your day. Afterwards some remain for coffee and conversation. Some leave just after. Either way, make CP a part of your day, and a part of your life.
